In 2008, we worked with DBC to redefine the look and feel of their brand, showcasing their strongest competitive advantage: fresh-roasted coffee. We extended this idea from in-store merchandising to e-marketing and a new web site. The new campaign gave franchisees a pick-me-up at just the right time. While Starbucks shuttered 600 stores, DBC rung up higher same-store sales across the chain.
